I have my video camera firewired into my laptop pc, therefore it works as a video in and I can capture still images.

I want to do time lapse photography with this set up. Basically, I want my camera to take a photo every five minutes automatically, even if I’m not there.

What software can do this? Preferably something free, as I’m a student animator and I need to find something that will let me do traditional stop motion at the hit of a button as well.
